A bowl of cornflakes, glass of milk, bread and -- is something missing? A poached egg perhaps? What a perfect combination this would make for a wonderful breakfast! When it comes to milk and bread, even a child can help himself, but when it comes to poached egg, adults just give up because they do not know how to poach an egg.
Follow the tips given below and very soon you will be able to make those perfect poached eggs.
A perfectly poached egg is one that is round with the yolk well settled in the middle and the white being firmly attached to the yolk. The egg must be well cooked, so that it does not taste like a raw egg. Stressed? Thinking how can you achieve such perfection? Well, relax as it is not that difficult too.
To make poach an egg in water, you will need some water in a pan. Put the pan on the gas and let the water boil. Once the water begins to boil, add some amount of vinegar and salt to it. Salt is usually added to enhance the temperature of the water and vinegar is meant to prevent the whites of the egg to form globules. Vinegar also helps in keeping the whites firmly attached to the yolk in the center. Now, take the number of eggs that you wish to use. Crack open the eggs and put them into egg cups. Place the cups into the water and allow it to cook for a few minutes. Then, check whether the eggs are done. If yes, then remove excess of water and carefully remove the eggs with a slotted spoon.
